Gary Chestnut, man paralyzed in October crash in Independence dies

INDEPENDENCE, Ky. — A young man paralyzed after a two-vehicle crash in front of Simon Kenton High School in the early hours of Oct. 9 has died.

Nick Mayer, the step-father of Gary Chestnut, reports the 22-year-old died Sunday, Aug. 31 due to complications sustained in last year’s crash.

Grandmother fatally mauled by dog in front of 2-year-old grandson in Butler County

MADISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A family dog mauled a woman to death in front of her 2-year-old grandson Monday afternoon.

Butler County Sheriff’s deputies said they found 59-year-old Cindy Whisman dead in the backyard of her daughter’s house in the 4700 block of Eck Road at about 1:10 p.m. The department received a 911 call from a neighbor who saw the attack at 1:03 p.m.
