The hello, long-time no see post

Hey there, it’s been a while since my last entry. Sorry, I’ve been busy.

I wrote the following love letter to my city roughly based on an earlier post I published on this blog.

I then bonked at mile 18 of my fifth hometown marathon. I think my ego was a little more tender than my legs after the race. Less than a week later, and after three mind numbing days of swimming a mile each time in lap pool,  I ran 6 miles. I followed that with a 5 and then a 4 and then a 9.5 mile run. I haven’t stop. As a matter of fact, I completely nerd out and began saving each run onto a single Google map.

I’ve also been trying to adjust and make the most out of a new work schedule. I get up and am at work by 4 a.m. So, I have plenty of time to see the sunrise. I captured one with this time-lapse video:

And this really cool Twitter pic that got shared a ton on social media the morning before.

My new sleep patterns also effed with my head a little.

I’ve found myself questioning the point of certain activities, sometimes wondering if the things I do matter or make a difference, where I went wrong in some places, and I’m just not as enthusiastic about the future as I used to be.

Oh, I also turned 39 two days after that last marathon. Someone at work brought in these kick ass donuts from a  bakery down the street, so that made getting older somewhat OK.

I’m wrestling with the idea of change, a change. I don’t know what that change is, but it is coming.

Other than that, I’m trying to get a few story projects off the ground. I’ve started living by small lists to keep those things feeling obtainable and manageable.

I’ve read books. I’ve seen “Avengers 2: Age of Ultron” twice.

Yeah. And I just keep running.
